Luz Nocturna Modded
For countless Android users, the “Night Light” or “Reading Mode” is a must-have, a real lifesaver for those late-night phone sessions. It works by filtering out the blue light, adding an amber tint to the screen. This mimics the natural light we experience during the day, which might even help you sleep better. But the stock Android version often falls short. Many people discover that even at its lowest setting, the warm glow is just too much. The screen ends up a harsh, deep orange or sepia tone, which completely wrecks the colors.
Luz Nocturna Modded is the ideal fix for this particular irritation. Created by CrazyBytesVE, this module employs a system-less overlay to adjust the internal framework values within the Android operating system. Its focus is on the minimum color temperature permitted by the Night Light feature.
What Does This Module Do?
This module’s main function is to change the lowest brightness setting for Night Light. In a standard Android Open Source Project (AOSP) setup, the Night Light slider has a set minimum value, which acts as a limit. You can’t go below this limit without turning the feature off completely.
With Luz Nocturna Modded, you can:
- Diminish the Overbearing Warmth: This adjustment tweaks the lower values, resulting in a more understated color.
- Retain color accuracy: You can dial down the blue light to a comfortable level without turning your white backgrounds into something resembling aged parchment.
- Tailor Your Preferences: This feature puts the user in charge, offering a middle ground between a complete absence of color and an overly warm tone.
It’s a great tool for graphic designers, photographers, and anyone else who cares about color accuracy but also wants to shield their eyes from the intense blue light that can disrupt sleep.
Compatibility and System Requirements
This module’s functionality hinges on the Android ROM’s architecture, as it overlays framework resources. Before proceeding with a flash, it’s crucial to scrutinize the compatibility list to avoid any potential system instability. Supported Android Versions:
- Android 10, 11, and 12/12.1: This module has been rigorously tested and is confirmed to function correctly on these versions.
- Android 13 and later versions: Though it’s probable that this will function, given the similarities in the underlying framework of more recent AOSP builds, it hasn’t been formally verified. Those using Android 13 or higher should be aware of this and proceed accordingly.
ROM Architecture:
- AOSP-style ROMs are the way to go, in my opinion. This module is built with Google Pixel stock firmware in mind, but it also plays nicely with LineageOS, Pixel Experience, ArrowOS, and other ROMs that stick closely to the original Android source code.
- Incompatible Interfaces: Avoid installing this on heavily customized OEM skins. This includes MIUI (Xiaomi), HyperOS, OneUI (Samsung), and ColorOS (Oppo). These manufacturers significantly alter the framework resource IDs, which means this module won’t function at all, or worse, it could lead to UI crashes.
Support for Modern Root Solutions
The Android rooting scene has changed, and Luz Nocturna Modded is right there with it. The metadata confirms compatibility with all the big system-less interface options:
- Magisk: The standard for years.
- KernelSU (KSU): For kernel-based rooting.
- APatch: The newer patching solution.
- KSUNext: Variants of KernelSU.
