CloudflareDNS4Magisk-IPv6

You might be wondering, “What is DNS?” In short, DNS stands for “Domain Name System,” and it is like the internet’s phone book or directory.

When you type a domain name, like “forum.xda-developers.com,” into your browser, your device has to find the exact IP address of the server that hosts that site. The DNS server “listens” to your request and gives you the right IP address.

This translation process is necessary for getting around the web. Every time you connect to the internet, you start with a DNS query. This means that the speed, reliability, and privacy policy of the DNS server you use directly affect how you browse.

The Purpose of This Module

The main goal of CloudflareDNS4Magisk-IPv6 is to send all of your device’s DNS requests to Cloudflare’s IPv6 servers.

When you’re on mobile data, your Android device uses the DNS servers that your mobile carrier provides. When you’re on Wi-Fi, it uses the DNS servers that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) provides. These default servers are not always set up for speed and may be set up to keep track of your browsing activity, which can then be sold or used for targeted ads.

This module changes your device’s network settings without needing to restart it. It makes Cloudflare’s IPv6 DNS addresses (2606:4700:4700::1111 and 2606:4700:4700::1001) the most important ones. This makes sure that your mobile data traffic goes through a DNS service that is more private and often faster.

Warning: Potential Network Conflicts

Some network providers, especially mobile carriers or Wi-Fi networks that don’t let you use certain DNS server addresses (like at work or school), may actively block all requests that try to use custom DNS server addresses. They make you use their own servers, which is often for monitoring or filtering.

If you install this module and your internet stops working, this is probably the reason. Your provider has set a network-level limit that this module can’t get around.
